While quality measurement has become an integral component of modern healthcare, the concept of an industry-wide approach to measuring and reporting quality was only beginning to take shape just over 25 years ago.
Due in large part to the efforts of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), today quality measurement is a cornerstone of the day-to-day operations for organizations across the country. More than 90 percent of U.S. health plans voluntarily report information about their performance to NCQA through annual HEDIS reporting.
Our infographic takes a look at the growth of HEDIS over the past quarter century and reviews some key highlights from NCQA’s 2015 State of Health Care Quality Report.
This infographic includes:
- A look back as NCQA celebrates its 25th anniversary
- HEDIS by the numbers
